Art Consult advised Mark and Lucianne Warde-Norbury on their plans to sell selected contents from Hooton Pagnell Hall near Doncaster in South Yorkshire, parts of which date from the 13th Century and has been home to the Warde family for over 300 years. Successive generations have added to the contents and the house is a fascinating reflection of changing taste and fashion over the centuries. It was now time to create space for all the things the family loves to have in their country residence, while setting up the Hall for the next generation. After a careful selection of what was and what was not to be sold, and subsequent valuations and auction proposals, Bonhams in London was chosen to organise the sale. More than 1.200 objects including Old Master and 19th century paintings, watercolours, furniture, ceramics, Chinese works of art, silver, jewelry, books and important manuscripts were offered in some 550 lots in a dedicated auction held in London on 1 December 2015. The sale made a total exceeding the high estimate: more than 1.1 million Pounds and almost 100% of the lots sold.
